Paradise On Earth – Gazipaşa

PARADISE ON EARTH – GAZIPASA

Are you tired of noisy resorts where there is no room to swing a cat on the beach? On your favorite Turkish Riviera, there is a place where you can relax in a calm, civilized way without overpaying. This is Gazipasa, a new destination for life and recreation.  Gazipasa is a small town in the neighborhood of Alanya. In fact, it is only about 20 km from the outermost district of popular Alanya to Gazipasa. You may have heard of this town after all, because this is where the Alanya airport is located. Every year this airport receives more and more international flights. It is located in the border0s of Gazipasa, but behind a mountain range, so the airplane noise does not disturb the locals. You can take beautiful photos on one of the beaches where airplanes fly very low, almost like Phuket and the Maldives.

Getting to Gazipasa is easy from Europe and Asia. This is a big plus. Ticket prices and flight distance are important criteria when choosing a vacation or relocation destination. If everything is so rosy, why does everyone go past Gazipasa straight to Alanya? It’s simple: to date, there are no large hotel, travel agencies and other attributes of popular resorts here. And this is one of the pluses of the city. The planned construction of 5* Rixos hotels will make a great contribution to the development of Gazipasa as one of the elite resorts of Turkey like Belek. Everyone will be comfortable here – both lovers of partying and quiet life.

Thanks to the unspoiled nature, mountains, sea, campsites and large agricultural plantations, one can fully enjoy a calm, measured rhythm of life. Just do not think that coming here, you will find yourself in a remote Turkish village. It’s a decent, clean city with good infrastructure, great beaches and beautiful parks.

Now, for example, a creekside park area right at the foot of the peninsula is in the process of being improved. There are walking paths, beautiful gazebos with thatched roofs, cafes, children’s playgrounds and barbecue areas. A great location for walks and family vacations, which will grow and develop. Nearby – the sea and the main beach, a small yacht marina, and at the top of the peninsula – the ruins of the ancient city of Selinus. The climb up to it is not easy, you need comfortable shoes, hats and patience. But the views from the fortress walls are amazing. It’s worth it!

The main beach of Gazipasa is also called Selinus, in honor of the ancient settlement. And it is really cool! Here is a wide and long coastline, sandy-pebble and comfortable entrance to the sea. What a beautiful place it is! Selinus is very similar to the best beach in Alanya, which bears the name of Queen Cleopatra, only much freer. Even in the high tourist season it is not as busy as Cleopatra Beach, where you literally have to try to find your place in the sun. Selinus is usually not crowded, and you can rest comfortably. At the more so on the beach there are enough inexpensive cafes with panoramic views of the sea, beautiful gazebos and playgrounds for children. The territory is landscaped, the city keeps a good eye on it. There are lifeguards working here during season.

If you want something more interesting, it’s worth it just to go around the peninsula. Behind it, next to a gorgeous rocky mountain, there is the locals’ favorite sandy beach. This is the beach of Koru district, and it has a funny Turkish name Bydy-Bydy. The photos with the background of these rocks are amazing! And a little farther away is a real natural wonder. Natural stone pools. The sea constantly renews the water in them, so it is always fresh. And because of the stones heated by the sun it is also warm. Swimming in this area is not so convenient, but relaxing in such pools and admire the beauty of nature – the best! Right next to the beach there is a good, comfortable camping site. You can spend a few days or even weeks there, exploring Gazipasa and the surrounding area.

There are many natural locations around Gazipasa that take your breath away. As recognized by many tourists and locals one of the most beautiful is the Delik Deniz Bay. In a small bay under a natural stone arch there is a pool with water of incredible turquoise color. Friends, this is a marvelous place. You have to get to it by car and then go down into the bay past banana plantations. It is not an easy journey, but the bay is worth it.

Now let’s talk about life in the city. You won`t be full of beautiful bays, but that’s a pity.  The seaside neighborhoods of Gazipasa are not heavily built up, but the heart of the city is bustling with life. Here the main institutions, stores and city facilities are concentrated. We start from the central ring, with a beautiful floral landscape and a sculpture of a mermaid in the center. We would like to draw your attention to the beautiful mosque in this location – it is a real architectural jewel of the city. White marble, traditional Ottoman patterns – it looks simply gorgeous.

The center is full of different stores and local, cozy restaurants. And although heavy luxury, and even just Zara is not about Gazipasa, there are quite decent boutiques and Turkish clothing brand Waikiki. Of course, there are numerous offices around, big appliance stores Vestel and Arçelik and department store 82 Salı Pazarı.

Fast food lovers will have a chance to vent at the Burger King, but for seafood lovers, we advise visiting a fish restaurant with a long name Özçelik Balıkçılık Balık Evi. It looks ordinary, but we guarantee that food here is really, really good! People even come to this place specially from Alanya.

Try the breaded squid rings and small hamsi fish. Since most of the visitors here are locals, the staff rarely speaks English. There is another restaurant with crazy views, you have to go higher up the mountain for that one. Welcome to Cebeli restaurant, an establishment with good reviews and gorgeous views.

There is a reason why a viewing platform is right next to it. You can admire the scenery right from the restaurant. The views open on the whole city, sea, mountains. The sunsets are especially beautiful. The restaurant has a beautiful, well-maintained territory and there are children’s areas. Here you can try traditional Turkish breakfast and different meat dishes.

Gazipasa is a modern and cozy city that can become your home too. The city is now being actively built up with modern projects. It is possible to buy a cool view apartment in the excavation stage at the lowest prices, and even with interest-free installments. One of our clients bought such a variant and came to Gazipasa on vacation with a bonus program from Gürses Invest. And if you want to buy an apartment in this beautiful city – contact us.

Vacationing and living in Gazipasa is not only convenient but also beneficial.

Firstly, the ecology here is exceptionally good, there are no industries at all!

Secondly, there are many plantations and greenhouses in the city, so there are always the freshest fruits and vegetables on the shelves.

In the center there is a city hospital with its own inpatient and departments such as surgery, cardiology, pediatrics, traumatology, obstetrics.   The educational atmosphere is represented by public and private colleges, schools and kindergartens. The city does not have its own university, but there is a technical school on the basis of the Alaadin Keikubat University.

As for a small town, Gazipasa has a good selection of coffee shops. Roby’s Coffee House is one of them. It has comfortable tables, a second floor, shelves with books. It is cool, cozy, brews delicious coffee and sells tasty desserts.

Gazipasa is such a nice place. Soulful, nice, quiet. Red-listed big turtles Carreta-carreta come to the beaches twice a year, so that after some time the little turtles crawl along the shores of Gazipasa to the sea. Bananas, citrus fruits and amazing seedless pomegranates ripen here and even festivals are held in their honor.

This is such a corner of unspoiled paradise.
